PIDGIN THE LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE!

For our text, John write, “And I see the dead, small and big, stand before God; and the books open… and another book open, wey be the book of life.” This moment show deep truth: every human life get record, but na only one book dey determine eternal destiny—the Lamb’s Book of Life, wey belong to Jesus Christ, the Lamb wey dem kill from the foundation of the world according to Revelation 13:8. 

The Lamb Book of Life no be symbol only; na spiritual reality. E get the names of those wey receive Christ, believe Him salvation, and surrender to Him lordship. Na the register of the redeemed, the citizens of God eternal kingdom. To get your name inside this book na the highest honour, the greatest security, and the most precious inheritance any person fit get. 

For ancient time, cities dey keep official register of citizens. If person betray loyalty or turn against the city, dem fit remove him name. John people sabi this kind picture well. These na books for identity and belonging, but the Lamb Book of Life different. Human hand no dey maintain am, na God mercy and righteousness dey keep am. Jesus tell Him disciples, “Rejoice because dem don write your name for heaven” for Luke 10:20. Their identity no base on ministry success, miracles, or spiritual gifts, but on belonging to God. 

This belonging no be something wey person earn by work. Na by faith person receive am. Paul write, “By grace you don save through faith… no be by works” for Ephesians 2:8–9. The Lamb Book of Life na book of grace—names dey written no be because of human perfection but because of Christ perfect sacrifice. 

Acts 16:13–15 give us living example of how name enter this book. Lydia na picture of heart wey God open. Paul meet Lydia, one woman wey dey worship God, religious, sincere, and morally upright, yet her heart still need divine intervention. This no be to frighten believers, but to wake urgency, gratitude, and holy living.

For believer, this truth bring deep comfort: “The one wey overcome go wear white garment, and I no go wipe im name comot from the Book of Life” according to Revelation 3:5. Christ Himself dey guarantee the security of those wey remain faithful. Dem no write your name with pencil, but with the blood of the Lamb. 

This na the final word of assurance of Christ!
