PIDGIN THE SPIRITUAL DEFENCE SYSTEM (SDS)!

Ephesians 6:11–17 

Make una wear komplete soja uniform wey God dey give, so dat una go fit stand fight di wayo wey devil dey use. 12Bikos, wi nor dey fight against human being, but na against di wiked rulers wey dey for dis world, against evil spirits and pawas wey dey di heavens. 13Na dis make mi sey, make una wear komplete soja uniform wey God dey give, so dat una go fit stand for groun wen trobol and wahala go kom and wen una don win, una go still stand well. 14So, make una stand well-well kon tie trut like belt round una waist, den wear bullet proof koat as raitiousness for una body. 15Make una wear shoe for leg wey go show sey, una dey ready to prish di Good News wey dey give pipol peace 16and with all dis, make una karry faith wey go help una kwensh all di wiked arrows wey Satan dey trow. 17Make una wear salvashon like priest kap for head kon whole di Spirit swod wey bi God word.

 

For 2020, one word rule global conversation: PPE—Personal Protective Equipment. E become symbol of safety, fear, and survival. People trust mask, gloves, visor, and suit to  shield dem against invisible enemy. Yet, despite all di layers of protection, millions still fall victim to di virus. PPE, though helpful, get limit, e fragile, and e no perfect. 

But Scripture show us different kind of protection—one wey no be human-hand product, one wey no fit tear, expire, or fail. Ephesians 6:10–18 reveal divine covering: God Spiritual Defence System (SDS), also known as the Armour of God. Dis no be optional equipment; Na essential for every believer wey want stand firm for di battles of life. To put on di armour na to put on Christ Himself. 

Di world believe say man-made material fit stop microscopic virus, yet di same world dey ignore spiritual virus—fear, deception, sin, confusion, depression, pride, and temptation—weh dey destroy far more lives. These invisible enemies dey real and more dangerous. Dem dey attack quietly, spread fast, and weaken soul before symptom even show. But God no leave Him children unprotected. He give us defence system wey indestructible, impenetrable, and fully effective. 

You be warrior for God army, but even warrior fit fall if e go battle unprepared. Without your SDS, you dey enter spiritual warfare exposed, vulnerable, and unguarded. The only way no to become enemy casualty na to dress yourself daily with di armour God don prescribe. 

Man PPE cover only part of body. God SDS cover spirit, soul, and body. Look di benefit of your divine protective covering: 

1. Helmet of Salvation – Protect your mind. Your thoughts, identity, and decisions dey guarded. Salvation secure your mind against lies, confusion, and mental attack. 

2. Breastplate of Righteousness – Protect your heart. Your spiritual vital organs—emotions, desire, and will—dey shield by the righteousness of Christ, no be your own. 

3. Belt of Truth – Keep you standing. Truth hold everything together. Without truth, everything go collapse. God Word na believer stabilising force. 

4. Shield of Faith – Block long-range attacks. Faith dey quench the fiery darts of doubt, fear, temptation, and accusation. E be your mobile defence system. 

5. Sandals of Peace – Protect your waka. Peace keep you steady, calm, and unshaken. E stop spiritual blisters—wounds wey worry, anxiety, or conflict dey cause. 

6. Sword of the Spirit – Your offensive weapon. Dis na God Word—your ability to strike back, resist enemy, and win battle from distance. 

Di armour of God resemble Roman soldier armour, but e still spiritual reality. Isaiah 59:16–17 paint picture of God Himself wearing armour as Him rise go fight for Him people. If God wear armour, how much more Him children? 

You no go ever enter physical battlefield without proper equipment. So why enter spiritual battlefield without your SDS? Our battle no be against flesh and blood. Human weapon no fit defeat spiritual enemy. Satanic virus plenty, subtle, and systematic for destruction. But Exodus 14:14 assure us say di Lord go fight for us. Still, we must put on di armour—because na di only weapon strong enough to withstand, counter, and defeat every attack. 

Truth (John 17:17), you must tie tight for your waist (Jeremiah 13:11). Righteousness (Matthew 6:33) must guard your heart. Faith (Romans 10:17) must shield your life. Salvation (Acts 4:12) must cover your mind. Di Spirit and di Word must empower your hand. 

Warrior king, warrior queen—your armour no be seasonal. E no be for emergency only. E be for daily use. The battle tougher pass before. The enemy more deceptive pass before. But your SDS stronger pass before. Put am on. Keep am on. Live for victory. 

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

·       Which part of God armour I dey neglect, and how I fit strengthen that area? 

·       Which spiritual “viruses” don try attack my mind, heart, or faith recently? 

·       How I fit practise using the Sword of the Spirit more effectively for daily life? 

PRAYER: Oh Lord, thank You for giving me protective weapon wey fit deal deadly blow to enemy and keep me safe. Help me use my SDS faithfully each day and stand strong for every battle. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
