God wan do one quiet miracle inside every believer life — to turn hard heart to soft heart. This one no be just character change or behaviour improvement. Na deep spiritual renewal, na heart transplant wey our loving Papa God dey perform by Himself. God promise say He go remove the stone heart wey dey our body and give us heart wey be flesh. 

Stoney heart no always mean say person dey rebel or dey live in sin. Sometimes, e just don tire. Sometimes e dey guard itself because e don see too many disappointments. Sometimes e just dey numb because pressure don too much. Sometimes e dey busy, dey work well outside but inside e don disconnect. Stoney heart fit pray, fit serve, fit lead, even fit minister but e still struggle to feel God tenderness or hear His small small whispers. 

But God no condemn stoney heart. He pursue am. 

He no shame am. He touch am. 

He no demand softness. He create am. 

Na this be the beauty of grace: God no dey ask you to fix yourself. He dey ask you make you yield. 

Pharaoh heart na warning! Pharaoh heart na the picture of stoney heart. Bible talk many times for Exodus 7–11 say him heart hard. He see miracle, sign, and wonder, yet he no move. That story dey remind us say stoney heart fit resist God even when e dey inside supernatural move. The thing show say hardness no always mean ignorance; sometimes e mean unwillingness. 

David show soft heart well‑well, especially for Psalm 51:17. David no perfect, but him heart dey always tender toward God. When dem confront am with sin, he repent quick. When pressure come, he pour out him soul for Psalm 62:8. When confusion show, he ask God for direction like we see for 1 Samuel 30:8. David show say fleshy heart no be perfect heart, but responsive heart. 

The heart of the disciples for the Road to Emmaus—Luke 24:32 talk say, “Our heart no burn inside us when He dey talk with us for road?” Their heart don dey cold, discouraged, and confused, but one encounter with Jesus warm am up, give clarity, and bring tenderness again. Na so God dey do — He dey turn coldness to fire again. 

The heart of Saul wey change to Paul  na radical change! Saul be zealous, stubborn, and spiritually blind man. But for Acts 9, Jesus interrupt am, and the man wey once dey breathe threat become vessel of compassion, humility, and revelation. God no modify Saul — He remake am. Na Ezekiel 36:26 promise wey show itself for real life. 

Wetin dey make heart stoney? 

- Disappointment wey person never process finish 

- Unforgiveness wey quietly turn hard 

- Long waiting wey don drain hope 

- Self-protection after person don betray you 

- Religious routine wey no get relationship connection 

- Fatigue wey slowly make spirit dull 

Stoney heart na survival response many times, no be rebellion. God dey see the story behind the hardness. 

Wetin fleshy heart look like? 

Fleshy heart no weak — e dey alive. 

- E dey feel conviction quick 

- E dey respond when God push small 

- E dey forgive easily 

- E dey love without fear 

- E dey worship freely 

- E dey listen without argument 

- E dey yield without delay 

Fleshy heart na heart wey fit carry God presence without breaking under the weight. 

God dey soften heart through Him word — Jeremiah 23:29 say God word be like fire and like hammer wey break rock. 

Through Him presence — one moment with Jesus fit melt years of hardness. 

Through Him love — Romans 2:4 remind us say na Him kindness dey lead us to repentance. 

Through surrender — God dey soften anything wey we put for altar. 

Through community — Proverbs 27:17: “Iron dey sharpen iron.” 

Softness no be wetin we produce. Na wetin we receive! 

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

·       Where you feel say your heart don turn guarded, numb, or resistant? 

·       Wetin be the disappointment or pressure wey dey cause that hardness? 

·       Wetin be one practical step you fit take this week to keep your heart tender?  

PRAYER: Lord, remove every hard place inside me — the tired, guarded, and wounded areas — breathe Your life inside them again. Give me heart wey dey feel You, follow You, and respond to Your whisper. Make my heart soft, alive, and fully Yours, in Jesus name. Amen.
