PIDGIN YOUR CHILD’S VOICE MATTERS!

2 Kings 4:6 “6 Wen dem don full, e kon tell en sons, “Make una bring anoda gallon kom.” But di boys ansa, “All of dem don full.” So di oil kon stop to pour kom out.

One truth wey dey inside Scripture na sya God dey listen to children, and heaven dey answer their voices, as even Jesus teach for Matthew 19:14 say children no suppose dey left out from spiritual things. Our text say, “When the mama ask for another vessels, her pikin say e don finish.’ Then the oil come stop to flow.”

This verse dey read as miracle of provision — and truly na so e be. But inside the story, e get one detail wey people dey miss: pikin dey there, dey participate, watch, respond, and e talk at one critical moment of divine intervention. Him voice matter. Him words mark the turning point of the miracle. Him simple statement — “Another one no dey” — become the line wey close one season and open another.

Children no be extras for God story and kingdom!

Throughout Scripture, God always dey honour the voices of children. Dem no be spiritual spectators. Dem no too small to hear God, too young for God to use dem, or too inexperienced to carry spiritual weight.

Consider Samuel. As pikin, he hear God voice before priest Eli hear am for 1 Samuel 3:1–10. God bypass the experienced and speak to the tender-hearted.

Consider the small servant girl for Naaman house. Her simple suggestion — “If only my master go go see the prophet for Samaria” — become the doorway to Naaman healing (2 Kings 5:2–3).

Consider the boy with five loaves and two fish. Him offering feed thousands (John 6:8–11).

Consider Jesus Himself, wey welcome children, bless dem, and declare, “Out of the mouths of babes and infants You ordain praise” (Psalm 8:2; Matthew 21:16).

God always dey use children to shift atmosphere, open doors, and release divine possibilities.

The pikin for 2 Kings 4 no dey silent.

The widow son no be passive observer. He join the miracle. He carry vessels. He watch the oil flow. He listen to him mother instruction. And when she ask for another vessel, he answer.

Him voice matter.

Him words carry truth.

Him statement shape the moment.

And Scripture record him contribution because heaven dey honour the voices of children.

Children carry prophetic sensitivity! Children often see wetin adults overlook. Dem dey speak with purity, honesty, and faith wey no get filter. Dem no carry logic too much, fear too much, or overthinking too much. Their heart open. Their spirit tender. Their faith clean.

This na why Jesus talk say, “Unless you become like little children, you no go ever enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).

Children believe easily. Dem trust quick. Dem respond sincerely. And God dey use that simplicity to release spiritual truth.

For many homes, dem dey tell children make dem keep quiet, stay out of adult matter, or keep their opinion to themselves. But Scripture show us say children often dey carry divine insight, warning, encouragement, and truth.

Your child fit talk something wey look small, but e fit be God dey speak through dem.

Your child fit ask question wey expose spiritual reality.

Your child fit pray prayer wey shift atmosphere.

Your child fit sense danger, discern person, or feel something for spirit before you do.

No silence them.

No dismiss them.

No underestimate them.

Your child voice matter to God — and e suppose matter to you.

Just as the widow fill vessel with oil, God dey fill children with wisdom, dreams, visions, and spiritual sensitivity. Joel 2:28 say, “Your sons and daughters shall prophesy.”

Not when dem old pass.

Not when dem marry.

Not when dem get degree.

Your sons and daughters — now — shall prophesy.

The widow son for 2 Kings 4 no dey prophesy, but he dey participate. And participation na the training ground for spiritual destiny.

Parents must create space for their children’s voices

The widow involve her son for the miracle. She no send am go. She no silence am. She no underestimate am.

She make room for am.

And God honour that room.

Parents today must do the same. Create space for your pikin to talk, pray, ask questions, share impressions, and participate for spiritual life. When you honour their voice, you honour the God wey place that voice inside them.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

·       I dey give my pikin, or the children wey dey around me, chance to talk, pray, and join for spiritual things?

·        I don ever ignore or forget wetin pikin talk wey fit get spiritual meaning?

·       How I fit nurture, encourage, and protect the spiritual sensitivity wey God put inside my child?

PRAYER: Father, thank You for the precious voices of children. Open my ears make I hear them the way You dey hear them. Help me honour, nurture, and protect the spiritual gifts wey You place inside them. Let my home be place where children grow for wisdom, faith, and boldness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
