CHILD-FRIENDLY ABIDE!

1 John 2:28 ICB

Yes, my dear children, live in him. If we do this, we can be without fear on the day when Christ comes back. We will not need to hide and be ashamed when he comes.

 

To abide means to stay close to God and never let go. It means living every day with Him, talking to Him, trusting Him, and following His Word. Jesus teaches us in John 15:4–5 that we are like branches, and He is the Vine. A branch cannot grow or make fruit if it is not connected to the vine. In the same way, we cannot grow as Christians unless we stay close to Jesus.

Life can sometimes feel confusing, scary, or full of changes. But God never changes. He is strong, steady, and safe. That is why He wants us to abide in Him. When we stay close to God through reading the Bible, praying, and obeying His Word, we become strong and confident in Him.

Jesus tells us many times to “remain” or “stay” in Him. This means we should keep our hearts connected to Him every day. We stay in His love like a plant stays rooted in the soil. We stay in His family like a child stays in a home. We stay in His strength like a branch stays on a tree. God will help us abide in Him, but we must also choose to stay close to Him because we love Him.

Abiding in God keeps us safe. It protects our hearts and helps us make good choices. It means trusting God, obeying Him, and remembering that He is always with us. Psalm 91:1 says that when we stay close to God, we are safe under His shadow.

Even when life feels dark or lonely, God never leaves us. He is our helper, our friend, and our guide. He abides with us, and He wants us to abide in Him too.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and staying close to me. Help me to abide in You every day by reading Your Word, praying, and obeying You. Keep my heart close to You always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
