CHILD-FRIENDLY CONDEMNATION!
John 3:17 GNT
For God did not send his Son
into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.
Condemnation is when someone
is made to feel ashamed, rejected, or unworthy. The Bible teaches us that
condemnation does not come from God. It comes from the enemy, who wants us to
feel bad about ourselves and afraid to come to God. God sent Jesus not to
condemn the world, but to save it (John 3:17).
Romans 8:1 tells us a
wonderful truth: there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
This means that when we belong to Jesus, God does not hold our sins against us.
Jesus has already taken the punishment for our sins, and God forgives us completely.
Condemnation hurts and
pushes people away from God. It says, “You are bad and cannot come back.” But
conviction, which comes from the Holy Spirit, is different. Conviction helps us
know when something is wrong and gently leads us back to God. Conviction brings
hope; condemnation brings sadness and fear.
When Jesus met the woman
caught in sin (John 8:1–11), He did not shame her. He showed her mercy and told
her to go and live a better life. Jesus showed us that love comes first, and
change follows.
The story of the prodigal
son (Luke 15) shows the same truth. The son felt unworthy, but the father
welcomed him with love and joy. God loves us like that Father.
When we listen to God’s
truth, remember the cross, walk with the Holy Spirit, and stay connected to
other believers, condemnation loses its power.
Remember: condemnation is
not the voice of God.
