CHILD-FRIENDLY GEAR CHANGE!

Isaiah 43:18-19 GNT

But the LORD says, "Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. [19] Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening already-you can see it now! I will make a road through the wilderness and give you streams of water there.

Sometimes in our walk with God, He lets us know it is time for a gear change. Just like a car cannot climb a hill or go faster if it stays in the same gear, we cannot grow spiritually if we keep doing things the old way.

A gear change means God wants us to think better, pray better, obey better, and grow stronger.

Paul understood this when he said, “When I was a child… I put away childish things.” (1 Corinthians 13:11).

Growing up means changing.

Destiny means moving.

Faith means acting.

God often shows us a shift before we understand everything.

He told Abram, “Go… to a land I will show you.”

He told Moses, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain.”

He told Joshua, “Arise…”

A gear change starts with a feeling inside — a gentle push from God that says, “It’s time to grow.”

But we cannot move forward if we keep holding on to the past.

Lot’s wife looked back and lost her future.

Israel wanted Egypt and slowed down their promise.

Saul refused to change and lost his throne.

To shift gears, we must let go of:

- Old habits

- Old fears

- Old excuses

- Old friendships that pull us back

- Old versions of ourselves

God gives new strength for new seasons.

Elijah was strengthened by an angel.

David encouraged himself in the Lord.

Strength for tomorrow cannot come from yesterday.

Every shift needs obedience.

Noah built the ark before rain.

Peter tried again after failing.

The widow poured oil before the miracle.

Obedience helps us shift into the next gear.

God’s gear change brings:

- Clarity

- Growth

- Fruitfulness

- Maturity

- Impact

And He promises to guide us (Psalm 32:8).

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
