CHILD-FRIENDLY SAVED BY GRACE, NOT WORKS!

Ephesians 2:8-10 GNT

For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it. [10] God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do.

 

Grace is the beautiful message at the heart of the gospel. It means God loves us and saves us, not because of the good things we do, but because He is kind and loving. Many people think they must work hard to earn God’s love, but the Bible tells us that salvation is a gift from God. A gift is not earned—it is freely given.

Grace means God chose us and loved us even when we did wrong. Romans 5:8 teaches us that Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. We did not save ourselves; Jesus saved us because He loves us. Salvation started with God’s love, not our actions.

Paul understood this very well. Before he followed Jesus, he hurt Christians and tried to stop the church. But God showed him grace and changed his life. Paul later said that everything he became was because of God’s grace.

The thief on the cross is another example. He did not have time to do good works, but he trusted Jesus. Jesus promised him he would be with Him in paradise. This shows us that salvation is about believing in Jesus, not working to earn heaven.

Verse 10 reminds us that once we are saved, God has good things planned for us to do. We are God’s special creation. We do good works not to earn God’s love, but to show His love to others.

Grace helps us love God, thank Him, and live in a way that pleases Him.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for loving me and saving me by grace. Help me to remember that I do not earn Your love, I receive it. Teach me to do good works that show Your kindness to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
