PIDGIN THE COVENANT KEEPER!
Jenesis 17:2 “I go make my kovenant with yu kon give yu plenty shidren.”
God na Covenant Keeper. From
start to end of bible, God covenant dey show Him character and how serious He
take relationship with human beings. Covenant no be ordinary promise; na strong
agreement wey God Himself start and uphold. These divine covenants help us
understand the whole Bible and explain how God relate with man.
For Bible, covenant na
promises wey God make with people. Sometimes, God expect faith, obedience,
repentance, and righteous living from us. But even when human responsibility
dey involved, the covenant no depend on man strength; e depend on God faithfulness.
The centre of every covenant relationship be God word: “I go be their God, and
dem go be My people” (Genesis 17:7). This show say God want relationship,
belonging, and commitment.
For Genesis 17, God
establish everlasting covenant with Abraham and him descendants. God no promise
something temporary; e promise something eternal. God covenant na unbreakable
word, sealed by who God be. He go keep Him promise forever to those wey belong
to Him.
Covenant, according to Bible
meaning, na blood bond wey God alone arrange and enforce. Hebrews 6:13–18
explain say when God make promise to Abraham, He swear by Himself because no
one big pass am. God use Him own character as guarantee of the covenant, say,
“Surely I go bless you, and I go multiply you.” Abraham wait patiently, and at
last he collect the promise. This teach us say covenant fit take time, but e no
go ever fail.
Make we think am well: God
swear by Himself—by Him holiness, integrity, and nature. Hebrews confirm wetin
Genesis talk by showing say God counsel no dey change and His promise dey
confirmed by oath. From cover to cover, Scripture dey show say God trustworthy
and faithful.
To believe say God na
Covenant Keeper, we must first believe wetin Bible talk about His nature.
Numbers 23:19 say God no be man wey go lie, and Hebrews 6:18 say na impossible
for God to lie. If even one covenant fail, then Isaiah 55:11—where God talk say
His word must accomplish wetin He send am do—go turn lie. That one no possible.
God word final and perfect.
God write down Him covenants
for Bible make we see proof of Him faithfulness. He make covenant with Noah say
He no go ever destroy the earth with flood again (Genesis 9:11). He call
Abraham and promise blessing, multiplication, and inheritance (Genesis 12:1–3).
He establish covenant with Israel through Moses (Exodus 19:5–6). He promise
David everlasting throne (2 Samuel 7:12–17). Later, He prophesy New Covenant
through Jeremiah, wey go dey written for people hearts and fulfilled in Jesus
Christ (Jeremiah 31:31–34).
Every covenant show say God
dey take the first step. Covenant no be agreement wey two people negotiate; na
divine declaration. E be unilateral—God bind Himself to His word. Human being
no sign anything. God put His own signature, swear by His own name. Because He
swear by Himself, every covenant He make sure.
For Genesis 17, the word
“covenant” show many times, to show how important e be. God describe the
covenant as everlasting and unconditional. Jeremiah 33:20–22 make this clear
when God say if His covenant with day and night no fit break, then His covenant
with David throne no fit break too. God keep am—Jesus Christ be King of kings,
last of David lineage, and permanent King for that throne.
God faithful even when
people fail. Human behavior fit change, but God's covenant no dey shake. God no
dey change. When we understand this, our faith go strong and our confidence for
God go grow.
When we see how God keep
covenant throughout Bible, e inspire us to trust am personally. When we stand
on God promises—whether na salvation, provision, healing, or purpose—we no dey
stand on hope alone. We dey stand on covenant truth wey God seal with Him own
integrity. God still ready, willing, and faithful to fulfill every promise He
don make.
God na Covenant Keeper
today, tomorrow, and forever.
