PIDGIN DON’T BURY YOUR TALENT!

1 Peter 4:10–11 “10 God don give evribody en own gift, so make una use di gift take help each oda as good savant wey get God grace. 11 Pesin wey dey prish; make e prish God word well. Pesin wey dey help odas, make e do am with di pawa wey God gi-am, so dat for evritin, God go get glory thru Jesus Christ. Make all glory and pawa bi Christ own forever and ever. Amen!

Every believer get talent wey God don put inside dem. E fit be spiritual gift, special ability, or unique grace wey God give you make you fit serve, build, and bring glory to Him name. This talent no be mistake, no be accident, and no be optional. Na heavenly deposit. The question no be whether you get talent, but whether you don discover am, value am, and dey use am well.

1 Peter 4:10–11 remind us say every believer don receive gift from God, and we must use am faithfully as correct steward of God many-sided grace. Peter divide the gifts into two big groups: speaking gifts and serving gifts. Anybody wey dey speak must speak as person wey carry God message, no be personal opinion. Anybody wey dey serve must serve with the strength wey God give, no be human power, pride, or ambition. Why? So that everything go bring glory to God alone.

But many Christians don bury their talent. Some hide am because of fear, shame, comparison, or because dem dey wish for another gift wey look “bigger” or “better.” Others hide their gift because dem feel say their own no dey popular, no dey celebrated, or no match wetin dem want for life. But Bible clear: God no give us talent for show-off, but for kingdom work.

Romans 12:6 talk say our gifts dey according to the measure of faith wey God give us. Meaning say God dey give you wetin match your destiny, no be wetin match your personal desire. If your gift na prophecy, use am only when Holy Spirit truly dey lead you. If your gift na service, mercy, giving, teaching, leadership, encouragement, or hospitality, use am with joy and diligence. We no fit choose our gift, but we fit choose whether we go use am or bury am.

Jesus parable for Matthew 25:14–29 show us serious truth: God dey expect us to invest wetin He give us. The master no vex because the servant lose the talent; he vex because the servant hide am. He say, “You suppose invest the talent.” Meaning say for God kingdom, doing nothing with your gift na big problem.

Some people bury their talent because dem feel say dem deserve more—more attention, more platform, more recognition. But Jesus talk say the master give each servant talent “according to his ability.” God no owe anybody anything, but in His mercy, He still give us something valuable. Wetin He give you get purpose, get weight, and get meaning.

Your talent—whether na teaching, intercession, administration, giving, creativity, leadership, or compassion—na divine tool for kingdom work. E no small. E no useless. E no inferior. E no accidental. Na heavenly investment.

Proverbs 22:29 show one strong principle: if you dey diligent with your gift, God go lift you. Promotion dey follow faithfulness. Your next level dey tied to your talent. God no dey promote wetin you refuse to use.

So ask yourself: Wetin I dey do with wetin God give me

I dey invest am

I dey hide am

I dey compare am

I dey despise am

Or I dey multiply am faithfully

For every servant wey use their gift well, God promise reward: “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter the joy of your master.” This no be ordinary compliment; na promotion, expansion, and eternal honour.

My dear, no bury your talent.

No hide wetin God put inside you.

No look down on your gift.

No wait for perfect condition.

No compare your grace with another person own.

Use wetin God give you, and you go see how God go multiply am.

Invest your talent.

Steward your talent.

Honour God with your talent.

Your gift dey needed. Your gift get value. Your gift na from God.

Think well before you bury that talent.
