PIDGIN ETERNAL ANCHOR!

Hibru 6:19 “Dis hope strong for awa heart like ship wey dem tie make e nor for move, bikos di hope wey wi get dey kamkpe and strong gidigba. Di promise go take us pass di curtain for heaven, until wi rish where God dey;

Every ship, no matter how fine or big, need anchor. If ship no get anchor, e go drift — wind go push am, water current go pull am, storm fit scatter am. Hebrews use this strong picture explain wetin God don give every believer: eternal anchor. No be temporary support, no be seasonal encouragement, but permanent, unshakeable, immovable grounding for Christ.

For this world wey everything dey shift — emotions, situations, relationships, economy, health, and even our own strength — God give us something wey no dey move. Hope for Christ no be wishful thinking; na anchor wey hold soul steady when life turn unpredictable.

This anchor na hope wey dey rooted inside God promise. Hebrews 6 talk about two things wey no fit change: God promise and God oath. God no even need swear oath — Him word alone dey enough — but He do am to show us how serious, committed, and unchanging Him intention be toward us.

This one mean say your hope no dey anchored inside your performance, feelings, situation, past, or strength.

Your hope dey anchored inside God character.

Your anchor strong because the Person wey hold am strong.

Abraham experience this. God promise am pikin, and even when him body be “as good as dead,” he hold hope because Romans 4:18–21 talk say, “He wey promise dey faithful.” Him anchor hold!

Anchor dey hold for storm because anchor no dey tested for calm water. Na storm dey prove anchor.

David face storm of betrayal, fear, and danger, yet he talk, “My heart is steadfast, O God.” (Psalm 57:7). Him anchor hold.

Paul face storm for sea, storm of persecution, storm of prison, yet he talk, “None of these things move me.” (Acts 20:24). Him anchor hold.

Di disciples panic for storm for Sea of Galilee, but Jesus dey sleep — no be because He no care, but because na He be the Anchor inside the boat (Mark 4:35–41). When dem call Him, storm obey.

Your storm no dey decide your destiny. Na your anchor dey decide am.

The anchor reach beyond the veil. This one mean say your anchor no dey tied to anything for earth. E dey tied to Christ Himself, wey dey sit for right hand of the Father.

Your anchor no dey your job.

No be your ministry.

No be your ability.

No be your relationships.

No even be your own faithfulness.

Your anchor dey Jesus — wey no fit fail, no fit change, no fit lose, no fit move.

Na why your soul fit rest even when life dey shake. Your anchor no dey inside storm — e dey inside throne room.

Anchor dey stop drifting.

Drifting dey subtle — e dey happen small small, quiet, almost unnoticed.

- Small discouragement.

- Small disappointment.

- Small delay.

- Small distraction.

Before you know am, believer fit drift from passion to passivity, from fire to tiredness, from devotion to duty.

But anchor dey keep you grounded.

E dey keep you aligned.

E dey stop you from being carried away by emotions, culture, or pressure.

Early church face persecution, uncertainty, and loss, yet dem remain steadfast because their hope dey anchored inside risen Christ (Acts 4:33).

The anchor eternal.

Everything earthly na temporary.

Everything human fragile.

Everything material dey pass.

But the hope wey God give eternal.

E no dey expire.

E no dey weak.

E no dey rust.

E no dey break.

Peter call am “living hope” (1 Peter 1:3).

Paul call am “blessed hope” (Titus 2:13).

Hebrews call am “anchor for the soul.”

This hope no be only for heaven — na for now.

Na the strength wey dey keep you standing,

the peace wey dey keep you calm,

the assurance wey dey keep you moving,

and the confidence wey dey keep you believing.
