PIDGIN FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH!

1 Timoti 6:12 “Make yu fight di fight wey dey make faith strong and whole di life wey nor dey end, wey go make pipol praiz God, bikos na dis make am koll yu.

It get reason why Paul use war language when he dey talk to Timothy. Faith no dey passive. E no be gentle waka for life. Faith na fight — deliberate, intentional, daily stand against everything wey wan pull you comot from God truth. Christian life no be playground; na battleground. And every believer, whether dem realise am or not, don enlist already.

Paul instruction to Timothy no be poetry; na prophecy. Timothy young, gentle, and dey surrounded by false teachers, cultural pressure, and spiritual attack. But Paul no tell am to run. He tell am to fight — no be with fist, but with faith; no be with anger, but with conviction; no be with fear, but with endurance.

Fight of faith no be imagination — e real. Bible show say believers dey face three major enemies:

- The world — its systems, values, and pressure (1 John 2:15–17).

- The flesh — our desires and weaknesses (Galatians 5:17).

- The devil — accuser, tempter, deceiver (1 Peter 5:8–9).

These forces no dey rest. Dem dey push, whisper, entice, intimidate. Dem wan weaken your confidence for God promise. Dem wan make you doubt wetin God talk, just like serpent do Eve for Genesis 3:1. Na why Paul say, “Fight.” Faith must be defended, strengthened, exercised.

Paul continue, “Lay hold on eternal life.” Meaning, keep your eyes on wetin matter. Faith go weak when focus shift. Peter waka for water until he look wind (Matthew 14:28–31). Israelites see giants instead of promise (Numbers 13:31–33). Martha distracted by serving instead of sitting with Jesus (Luke 10:38–42). Fight require focus.

We dey win fight of faith by fixing our gaze on Christ, not circumstances. Hebrews 12:2 say, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Faith dey grow where focus dey right.

Faith no be emotion, no be positive thinking, no be optimism. Faith dey built on God Word. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” — Romans 10:17. The Word dey fuel the fight.

Jesus fight devil for wilderness with Scripture, not feelings (Matthew 4:1–11). David strengthen himself with God promises (1 Samuel 30:6). Joshua commanded to meditate day and night to prosper (Joshua 1:8).

If you no dey feed your faith, you dey weaken am. The Word na your weapon, your anchor, your shield, your sword.

Bible full of men and women wey fight the good fight, their example dey strengthen our own fight:

- Abraham believe God for son even when body weak (Romans 4:18–21).

- Hannah pray through years of barrenness (1 Samuel 1).

- Daniel refuse compromise even under threat of death (Daniel 6).

- Woman with issue of blood push through crowd to touch Jesus (Mark 5:25–34).

- Paul finish race with joy, saying, “I have fought the good fight…” (2 Timothy 4:7).

Their battles different, but their trust the same — unwavering.

Paul call am “good fight.” Why good? Because the reward dey eternal. Because God dey fight with you. Because victory sure. Because every battle dey strengthen your spiritual muscle. Because tested faith dey become unshakeable faith.

Fight of faith no be perfection; na persistence. No be never falling; na rising again. No be knowing everything; na trusting the One wey know all.

When you fight the good fight of faith, you no dey fight for victory — you dey fight from victory. Christ don overcome (John 16:33). Your role na to stand, believe, endure.
