PIDGIN THE FIRE OF GOD’S PRESENCE!

The fire wey dey show say God dey present na one of the strongest and most common signs for Scripture. From Genesis reach Revelation, anytime God show, something dey burn. No be because He wan destroy, but because His nature holy, pure, and different from anything we know. His fire dey reveal, e dey refine, and e dey restore. E dey expose wetin no pure, e dey wake up wetin don sleep, and e dey empower wetin God put inside us.

When Moses see the burning bush for Exodus 3, e no dey find God. E just dey look after sheep for wilderness, dey live far from the destiny wey God plan for am. But the fire of God’s presence enter him normal day. The bush dey burn but e no burn finish — na example of wetin dey happen when God’s fire touch person wey don surrender. God’s presence no dey destroy; e dey transform. Moses remove him sandals because the fire show say the ground holy. Na so God’s fire dey call us to remove the sandals of pride, fear, and self‑reliance make we fit stand for the purity of His presence.

As Israel dey journey, God’s fire remain sign say He dey with them. “The Lord go before them for night with pillar of fire” (Exodus 13:21). This fire guide them, protect them, and remind them say dem no dey alone. Even when dem doubt, complain, or rebel, the fire no comot. God’s presence no dey fragile; e dey faithful. His fire dey stay even when our faith dey shake.

For Mount Sinai, the fire strong pass. “Mount Sinai full of smoke because the Lord descend on am with fire” (Exodus 19:18). The people fear, but Moses near the fire. The same fire wey dey shake flesh dey attract the spirit. People wey dey hungry for God dey run go where the flame dey, no be run away. Isaiah experience this one when burning coal touch him lips (Isaiah 6:6–7). The fire no wound am; e cleanse am. E remove guilt, break shame, and prepare am for assignment. God’s fire always dey prepare person for purpose.

For New Testament, the fire of God’s presence come near us pass before. John the Baptist talk say, “He go baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Matthew 3:11). This one happen for Acts 2 when “tongues of fire” rest on the disciples. The same God wey descend on Sinai now dey enter human heart. The fire wey shake mountain before now dey ignite normal men and women to carry the Gospel with boldness. Na this be the miracle of Pentecost — God’s fire no just surround us again; e dey inside us.

The fire of God’s presence no be emotional drama or spiritual show. Na the Holy Spirit work inside person — e dey purify motive, deepen hunger, and wake obedience. E dey burn bitterness, pride, and compromise. E dey ignite prayer, worship, and passion for holiness. E dey give us power to live as witnesses for world wey dey grow cold. Hebrews 12:29 remind us say, “Our God na consuming fire.” No be to consume us, but to consume anything wey dey stop us from becoming who He create us to be.

Today, the fire of God’s presence still dey available. E dey meet us for worship, e dey whisper through Scripture, e dey convict us for prayer, and e dey strengthen us for weakness. E no be for special Christians only; na inheritance for every believer. When we welcome His fire, we welcome transformation. When we yield to His presence, we enter purpose. When we allow His flame to burn inside us, we become carriers of His glory for dark world.

·       When last I “turn aside” like Moses to meet God intentionally

·       How the Holy Spirit dey invite me to carry His fire enter my home, ministry, or community

PRAYER: Father, make the fire of Your presence burn inside me. Purify my heart, ignite my spirit, and burn anything wey dey block Your work for my life. Make me vessel wey go carry Your flame with humility, boldness, and love. Amen.
