Jenesis 43
Naw di honga strong

5 But if yu nor gri make e follow us, wi nor go-go, bikos di man sey, ‘Una nor

6 So Israel sey, “Wetin make
una kause dis wahala wen una tell di man sey una get anoda broda?”
7 Dem ansa, “Di man ask us
kweshon well-well about wi and awa family sey, ‘Una papa still dey alive? Una

‘Make una bring una broda kom’?”
8 Den Judah tell en papa

story, wi for don go der kom back like two times naw!”
11 Den dia papa Israel tell
dem, “If na so e go bi, den make una do dis tin for mi: Make una karry some
among di best tins wey wi get put for una bags kon give di man as gift; small

dey go. 14 Make di God wey get pawa give una mesi for di man front, so dat e go
release Simeon and Benjamin! But for mi, if I luz my shidren, I luz dem bi
dat.”
15 So dem take di gift,
karry doubol money kon take Benjamin follow body. Den dem rush go Egypt kon
stand for Josef front. 16 Wen Josef si Benjamin with dem, e kon tell en savant
wey dey kare for en house, “Make yu take dis men go my house, den make yu kill
one animal kon kook am, bikos dis men go chop with mi dis aftanoon.” 17 Di man

18 But di men kon dey fear
wen dem take dem enter Josef house. Dem kon sey, “Dem bring us kom here, bikos
of dat money wey wi si for awa sak dat time. E won katch us, turn us to en

19 So dem go meet di man wey
dey kare for Josef house kon follow am tok for di door-mot. 20 Dem tell am, “My
oga, wi really kon buy food di first time. 21 But wen wi rish where wi won for
sleep dat nite, wi open awa sak and all of us si awa money; dat is di whole

28 Dem kon ansa, “Yor savant

Josef rush go outside, bikos e nor fit bear as e dey si en brodas and e don

32 Dem arrange one place for
am, anoda place for en brodas and anoda place for di Egypt pipol wey won chop
with am. (Dis na bikos, Egypt pipol nor dey chop with Hibru pipol, bikos Egypt
pipol bilive sey e nor good to chop with Hibru pipol.) 33 Dem sidan for en
front as dem take born dem; from di first-born go rish di last born. Di men kon
dey sopraiz dey look demsef. 34 E give dem part for di food wey dem gi-am, but
di one wey e give Benjamin, big pass dia own five times. Dem chop and drink
with Josef until drink kon katch dem.
Hospitality pass food,
drink, or place to sidon. For Bible, hospitality na spiritual posture—na way
wey person open him life make God fit enter matter, heal wounds, restore
relationships, and show Him purpose. Genesis 43 give us strong picture of this
truth. Joseph, wey don become governor for Egypt, prepare feast for the same
brothers wey betray am. Dem come with fear, no sure wetin go happen, but Joseph
respond with generosity, honour, and kindness. Him hospitality become the door
wey God use begin heal broken family.
When Joseph see him
brothers, he no return evil for evil. Instead, he tell the steward, “Carry
these men enter house, kill animal, prepare food; these men go chop with me
this afternoon” (verse 16). This act no be casual. E intentional, prophetic,
and deeply spiritual. Joseph table become the place wey fear face truth, guilt
show face, and reconciliation begin.
For Bible, God dey use
hospitality show Him nature. E show God heart. God dey welcome stranger, feed
hungry, comfort tired people, and invite broken people. For Genesis 18, Abraham
entertain three heavenly visitors without knowing who dem be. Him hospitality
open door for prophetic promise—Sarah go born son. Hebrews 13:2 remind us: “Make
una no forget to entertain strangers, because some people don entertain angels
without knowing.”
Joseph hospitality reflect
God heart. Even though dem wrong am, he choose mercy. Even though he wound, he
choose generosity. Even though he high for position, he choose humility. Him
table become place of grace, no be judgment. This na God heart—He prepare table
even for people wey oppose am (Psalm 23:5).
Joseph brothers enter him
house with fear. Dem think say punishment, accusation, or prison dey wait them.
Fear grip them, but hospitality calm their fear. The steward tell them, “Peace
be unto you, no fear” (verse 23). Hospitality dey calm storm inside human
heart. Warm welcome fit silence suspicion. Shared meal fit soften hard
emotions. Kind gesture fit break years of tension.
For Luke 24, resurrected
Jesus break bread with two disciples for road to Emmaus. Na for that moment of
hospitality their eyes open. Fear turn to revelation. Confusion turn to
clarity. Hospitality dey create space for God to speak.
Joseph feast no be about
food alone; na about restoration. He arrange his brothers according to birth
order—prophetic sign say God dey reorder their story. He give Benjamin five
times more—sign of favour and test of their heart. Through hospitality, Joseph
begin slow, Spirit-led reconciliation wey heal relationships.
Hospitality na healing
ministry. Na way to talk, “I choose peace over fight, grace over bitterness,
restoration over revenge.” Jesus use meals restore Peter (John 21), dine with
sinners (Luke 15:2), and teach kingdom truth (Luke 14). Early church grow through
shared tables (Acts 2:46).
Hospitality no be optional
for believers. Na kingdom mandate. Romans 12:13 say, “Practice hospitality.” 1
Peter 4:9 say, “Use hospitality without complaining.” Hospitality na spiritual
discipline wey train our heart to love like Christ. E stretch us, challenge our
assumptions, and teach us to see people through God eyes.
Joseph hospitality no easy.
E cost am emotionally and spiritually. But e align am with God redemptive plan.
When we open our homes, tables, hearts, and resources, we dey partner with God
for healing and restoration.
Joseph feast become turning
point. E prepare ground for Joseph to reveal himself, save his family, and
preserve Israel. Hospitality dey create room for divine intervention. E invite
God to move in ways we no fit predict. E make space for God purpose.
When we welcome others, we
dey open door for God to write new chapters. We no know which healing,
breakthrough, or blessing fit come from simple act of kindness.
