PIDGIN POSITION TO POSSESS!

Make we understand say before person fit possess wetin God give am, e must first know where e stand. God want make His people dey the right place, for the right time, and for the right reason. Plenty believers dey lose ground no be because God no give dem anything, but because dem retreat when opposition show. Many times, we miss our possession because we no hold our position.

Opposition no always mean say something dey wrong; sometimes na sign say something important dey in front. David understand this well. When he face Goliath, he no run. He stand gidigba because he know him position for God. Him boldness no come from experience or physical strength, but from knowing covenant and position.

Position mean where person dey placed—where e dey stand, sit, or operate from. According to Webster dictionary, position describe state of placement, condition, attitude, or situation. Spiritually, position dey very important because e determine authority, perspective, and outcome. Where you dey stand from go determine wetin you fit withstand.

Before salvation, we dey spiritually dead and no fit respond to God. But through Christ Jesus, God make us alive. Our text say because of God mercy and love, He raise us up together with Christ and seat us with Am for heavenly places. This no be future talk; na present reality. Because Christ rise and sit down, everybody wey believe don share in that resurrection life and position.

Through Christ, our position change completely. We move from sinner to saint, from outsider to family member, from powerless to authorised. Grace place us for the Lord side—the kingdom side—the side of power, royalty, and reign. Ephesians 2:19 say we no be strangers or foreigners again, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God household. You dey seated with other believers, under Christ authority, inside God family.

Na from this position in Christ we fit win spiritual battles. Authority dey flow from position. Confidence to stand against opposition dey come when you know where you dey seated. David courage come from this understanding. For 1 Samuel 17, he acknowledge God covenant and stand firm. He no see Goliath from valley of fear, but from position of faith.

You really know your position for Christ? This question important because position affect posture. If you no know where you dey seated, you go dey fight from weakness instead of authority. Our position in Christ assure us of our inheritance. When we operate from that position, we fit face any opposition for life without shaking.

Jesus show us example of right positioning. For Luke 22:27, He teach say true authority dey show through humility. Even though He be Lord, He serve. He also show teaching authority by sitting, which na normal posture for teachers that time (Matthew 12:1–2). The people stand, but He sit to teach—this show calm confidence, no insecurity.

This make us ask: we ready to take the position of learners for Master feet? We open to instruction, correction, and growth? Na for Him feet we dey receive wisdom, strength, and courage to overcome opposition. Pride dey weaken position; humility dey strengthen am.

Our seating and reigning with Christ mean authority, honour, and victory—not defeat, fear, or depression. This position don already secure for Christ. When Jesus sit down in victory, we sit down with Him. Our work no be to get the position, but to operate from am.

But we must use our position to work. Authority wey person no use dey useless. We must actively enforce Christ victory over principalities and powers through faith, obedience, and prayer. The inheritance dey available, but we must possess am.

Bible give us warning through the tribe of Dan for Judges 18. Even though land dey assigned to dem, dem fail to fully drive out the Canaanites. Dem tolerate opposition and end up lose possession. Dem get promise, but dem no stand fully in their position.

This dey look like plenty believers today. Sometimes we dey coexist with fear, compromise, sin, or unbelief—allowing dem occupy space wey belong to us. When we do so, we lose ground. Possession follow position. When we abandon our position, we forfeit our inheritance.

God don already provide everything we need for Christ. Victory, authority, and inheritance dey available. The key na to remain firmly positioned—rooted for Christ, confident for His Word, and bold in faith. When we hold our position, possession go surely follow.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

·       When opposition show, I dey retreat or I dey stand firm for my position in Christ?

·       Which area of my life I dey tolerate resistance instead of exercising authority?

·       How I fit practically operate everyday from my seated position with Christ?

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me make I stand boldly and confidently for my position in Christ. Strengthen me to remain steady in faith, resist opposition, and fully possess my inheritance for You. Teach me to operate with humility, authority, and obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
