PIDGIN WRITTEN THREATS!

 2 Kings 18–19

Imagine say you dey live inside Jerusalem that time wey Sennacherib come lay siege. Fear for don grab everywhere. The Assyrian empire dey known for wickedness—dem don already conquer northern kingdom of Israel and capture plenty strong cities for Judah. Even their reputation alone fit make nation shake. Stories about how dem dey torture people dey everywhere.

Now imagine say na you be King Hezekiah. Big army full outside your gate. Inside the city, people dey panic, food and resources dey reduce, hope dey drop. Then the final one come—written threat. Letter wey full of intimidation, insult, and mockery against God of Israel. No be just political fight—it be spiritual battle.

Plenty of us fit relate to this kind situation. We no dey face army, but we don see things wey look impossible—conditions wey big pass us. Maybe na threatening message, bad medical report, money wahala, broken relationship, or words wey people talk against you. All these na “written threats” wey fit shake your faith.

Wetin Hezekiah do?

Instead of panic or surrender, he carry the letter go house of God. Bible talk for 2 Kings 19:14 say he spread the letter before the Lord. That action powerful well-well—it mean surrender, trust, and total dependence. He no just pray, he present the matter. He dey tell God, “See wetin dem talk. This one pass me—but e no pass You.”

Na big lesson be this. Anytime you face written threats—whether na real paper or life situation—carry am go give God. Spread am before am. No pretend strong, no hide your fear. Pour out your heart.

For ministry, plenty people don bring their own things come altar—bills, eviction notice, threat messages, sickness report, broken dreams—and surrender everything to God. Many times, we don see God move in ways wey human mind no fit explain. Why? Because faith wey trust God fully dey move Him.

Hezekiah no just present problem—he pray. For 2 Kings 19:15–17, him prayer show say he know say God get power pass everything. He no deny the threat, but he lift God above am. He understand say wetin be impossible for man still dey under God control.

God answer through prophet Isaiah. The message clear: God go fight by Himself. Sennacherib insult and pride don provoke heaven. That same night, God strike down 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. Without fight, victory come.

Story no end there. Later, Sennacherib run go house, and as him dey worship for him temple, him own sons kill am (2 Kings 19:36–37). The same man wey threaten nations fall suddenly, just as Isaiah prophesy.

This story dey remind us: God no dey fear threats. God dey see and hear everything. God dey fight for people wey trust Him.

Like Exodus 14:14 talk, “The Lord go fight for you; make you just calm.” And 2 Chronicles 16:9 talk say God dey look for people wey heart correct give am, so Him go show say Him strong for their matter.

Hezekiah win no be by power—but by trust in God. Him life show say sometimes, victory no come by struggle, but by surrender.

Today, wetin be your own “written threat”? Wetin dey speak fear for your life? Na which report, message, or situation dey worry you?

Carry am go give God.

Spread am before am.

Trust am with the result.

And be ready—not just for deliverance—but testimony wey go give God glory.

God still get power. He still dey deliver. And He fit turn every threat to testimony.
