CHILD-FRIENDLY PASS IT ON!

 Matthew 10:6-14 ICB

But go to the people of Israel. They are like sheep that are lost. [7] When you go, preach this: 'The kingdom of heaven is coming soon.' [8] Heal the sick. Give dead people life again. Heal those who have harmful skin diseases. Force demons to leave people. I give you these powers freely. So help other people freely. [9] Don't carry any money with you-gold or silver or copper. [10] Don't carry a bag. Take for your trip only the clothes and sandals you are wearing. Don't take a walking stick. A worker should be given the things he needs. [11] "When you enter a city or town, find some worthy person there and stay in his home until you leave. [12] When you enter that home, say, 'Peace be with you.' [13] If the people there welcome you, let your peace stay there. But if they don't welcome you, take back the peace you wished for them. [14] And if a home or town refuses to welcome you or listen to you, then leave that place. Shake its dust off your feet.

To pass something on means to give another person something that can help them. Sometimes it is something we don’t need anymore, and sometimes it is something God gave us so we can share it with others.

We can pass on good things—like kindness, love, prayers, gifts, and help. We can also pass on bad things, but God wants us to pass on only what is good.

Verse 8 says, “Freely you have received, freely give.” This means God gives us His blessings for free, so we should also share freely. We must not charge money for the gifts God gave us, but people can bless us if they want.

The gospel is a life of “pass it on.” In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus teaches that when we help others, we are helping Him. So we should do good to everyone, no matter who they are.

Elijah also passed on his gifts. In 1 Kings 19, God told him to anoint Hazael, Jehu, and Elisha. Each person received something special from him. Elijah didn’t need his anointing in heaven, just like we won’t need ours there. Everything God gives us is meant to be used on earth.

Sometimes we learn things from the Bible but keep them to ourselves. But many people are waiting for us to encourage, teach, or pray for them. Jesus has given us gifts, the Holy Spirit, and a special assignment. So we must pass it on!

We can pass on our experience, our testimony, our wisdom, our kindness, and our time. Even a small word of encouragement can change someone’s life.

Don’t hide it. Don’t waste it.

Pass it on!
