11 “Wen una enter any town or village, make una look for pesin wey ready to receive una for en house, make una stay with am until una komot from dat town. 12 Any house wey una enter, make una greet di pipol wey dey inside. 13 And if di pipol inside di house welkom una, make una peace stay with dem, but if dem nor welkom una, una peace go kom back to una. 14 If di pipol nor welkom or listin to una message, make una shake dia san komot from una leg as una dey leave dat house or town.

 

To pass something on simply mean to give another person wetin no dey useful to you again, or wetin dem give or do for us wey we suppose give another person too. 

Person fit pass anything on—good or bad; physical, material, emotional or spiritual things. 

All of us don collect genes, family inheritance and character from our lineage. I fit even talk say I pass my look give my son (na the male version of me), and who know, he fit pass am give him own children later.

Verse 8 talk say, “Freely you don receive, freely give”—“pass am on”. We no suppose dey hire out wetin the Lord give us free through Him death. We no dey charge money to use God-given gifts and talents, but we fit receive gifts and support.

The gospel na life of “pass am on”. If we read Matthew 25:31-46, we go see say anytime we pass something give another person, na the Lord we dey give am to. This one suppose ginger us to do good to everybody according to Galatians 6:10, no matter who dem be.

You go hear of Christian leaders wey dey expect payment before dem anoint, ordain or mentor people. How much dem pay to receive wetin dem dey charge others for?

Elijah journey of passing on him mantle dey for 1 Kings 19 as God instruct am. Elijah don tire, he wan go house, but God no gree make he go until he pass on all the gifts inside am. From verse 15, we see am pass something give Hazael, Jehu and finally Elisha—each person receive specific anointing and grace from am.

Everything wey God don grace us with na for earth use. When we die, we suppose go empty because those things no get use for heaven. 

Pass am on! Elijah (as fiery as he be) no need him anointing for where he dey go—na so e be for us too.

We suppose pass anything wey no dey useful to us again give person wey need am. 

We dey learn and study scripture but we keep the knowledge inside, when people dey outside dey wait make we encourage, support, motivate and bless them with am.

Christ don load us with different kinds of gifts. We full with the Spirit of holiness, called to specific work, instructed for that work, and commissioned to go testify the Gospel of God’s grace. 

In short—pass am on!

Wetin you get wey you fit pass on? 

Wetin God dey tell you to pass on wey you dey drag your leg?

As person dey reach one stage or age for life, we dey think who go carry our legacy. God expect us to do the same with wetin He give us because e plenty reach everybody.

Moses for Deuteronomy 34:9 pass him mantle give Joshua to continue wetin he no fit do again.

Sometimes wetin God call us to pass on no be only possession or position. E fit be our experience, testimony, wisdom, compassion or time. 

Some people prayer go strong because we share how God carry us through difficult season. Others go see road clear because we take small time teach, guide or correct them with love.

The enemy dey always make us think say wetin we carry too small, too ordinary or too personal to matter. But once we pass am on in obedience, God fit turn even the simplest thing to seed of transformation for another person life. 

One word of counsel, one heartfelt prayer, one practical act of kindness, or one encouragement at the right time fit become the divine answer person don dey wait for.

When we understand this, we no go see our life as container to store blessings again—we go see am as channel wey heaven dey use flow to others.

No keep am if you no dey use am. 

No waste or squander am if another person fit benefit from am. 

Pass am on!
