PIDGIN WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?
Exodus 32:26 “So Moses stand for di kamp gate kon shaut sey, “If yu dey God side, make yu kom meet mi.” Den Levi tribe gada go meet am.
“Which side you dey?” No be just
question wey Moses ask the Israelites—na the same question the Spirit of God
dey ask every believer today. For every area of life, sides dey. Family go
expect loyalty, friends go demand allegiance, workplace go require commitment,
and society go pressure you to choose one side over another. But above all
these voices, na the voice of the Lord of Hosts dey ask the most important
question: You dey the Lord’s side?
Every day, whether we know
or not, we dey choose sides. Sometimes we choose convenience, comfort,
emotions, or wetin people go like. Other times we choose people just to avoid
wahala. But God no dey ask for half‑hearted
loyalty—He dey ask for complete
allegiance.
When Moses come down from
Mount Sinai see say the people don dey worship golden calf, he stand for the
camp gate shout, “Who dey the Lord’s side?” No be casual invitation—na call to
separation, courage, and loyalty wey no dey shake. Na only the sons of Levi
step forward. Dem choose God even when e no sweet, no popular, and even
dangerous. Their decision show say God fit trust them.
To dey the Lord’s side no
dey always easy. E fit mean say you go stand alone, people go misunderstand
you, or you go take actions wey challenge the culture around you. E fit mean
say you no go bow to idols—no be golden calf this time, but modern idols like
money, fame, relationships, career, pleasure, or self‑will. Idolatry today dey
hide inside priorities, desires, and habits. Anything wey take God place for
your heart don turn idol.
Many believers enter
idolatry not because dem reject God, but because dem no wan take stand. Dem
drift. Dem compromise. Dem try serve God and serve themselves at the same time.
But Jesus talk clearly for Matthew 12:30: “Anybody wey no dey with Me dey against
Me.” No middle ground. Revelation 3:15‑16
warn say lukewarm life—standing
for the middle—no
dey acceptable to God. Na either the Lord’s
side or no side at all.
Many times we dey ask, “God
dey my side?” But Scripture show say na wrong question. For Joshua 5:13‑14, when Joshua meet the
Commander of the Lord’s
army, he ask, “You
dey our side or our enemies’
side?” The answer shock person: “No.” Meaning, “I no come take sides—I come take over.” God no dey support personal
agenda. Instead, He dey call us to align with Him will, purpose, and kingdom.
Romans 8:31 assure us say
God dey our side—but na when we dey Him side. God no dey take side against Him
Word, principles, or Him righteousness. When we stand with Am, He stand with
us. When we choose Him side, we dey waka inside Him protection, peace, and
victory.
To choose the Lord’s side
mean:
- Stand for truth even when
lie dey popular
- Choose holiness when
compromise easy
- Obey God even when
obedience dey cost you
- Put Him kingdom above
personal ambition
- Say “yes” to Him will even
when you no understand
The Levites choose God that
day, and God choose them forever. Their loyalty open door for priesthood,
service, and generational blessing. Your decision today carry the same weight.
Heaven dey watch. Hell dey watch. The world dey watch. Which side you dey?
No be question to answer
anyhow. Na question wey require action, surrender, and daily commitment. God
dey call Him people to take stand—not for religion, not for convenience, but
for Him.
Which side you dey?
